The landscape is a portrait of the Earth
About a landscape
(A word in protection of a landscape)
The attitude of artists to a landscape is a very interesting moment. On the one hand, a landscape is a frequent and favourite theme in creativity of many artists, but on the other hand, exactly it has a secondary role and a place among other genres of painting. For some reason it is considered that, it is easier to write a landscape. It assumes more freedom and not such responsibility and accuracy, as for example, in a portrait. It is necessary only to try to treat a portrait in the same way as the landscape and the result will be obvious or it is better to say “on the person' face”. Meanwhile, a really good landscape demands from the artist not less responsibility and attention and not each artist can write a good landscape. For it, a special predisposition and special talent is necessary.
The good landscape bears in itself feelings of the artist, which has been “poured out” on a picture in artistic image. The sincere in work the artist and the more he is capable, the more interestingly and more attractively the image that was created by him, the more it influences the spectator. Such pictures of a landscape remain in memory even on many years and only one mention of the name, cause in memory, through associations, this picture.
The good landscape always bears an idea in itself; there is a mood in it. It is far from copied image, but more experienced; the impression that passed through, but not just simply something seen. The artist studies to listen to the nature, to feel it, to reflect in himself and to introduce something in his original way.
The close attitude towards a landscape gives the artist understanding of beauty of this genre of painting and feeling of unity of the person with surrounding nature.
